How an insect taught man the intricate art of paper-making
It is an interesting fact that wasps made and used a rough sort of paper to build their nests long before mankind discovered the art.
Indeed ,these insect have been called "the first paper-making !" They, too, employ wood fibres with their powerful jaws, and pulp up with their powerful jaws ,and pulp up with their saliva. This is slightly sticky, and -mixed with the fibres--forms a sort of paste, which the wasps use to build their cells and the outer cover of their nest.
