To day candles are made in all sizes from the tiny Christmas tree candle, numbering about eighty to the pound,to the tall altar candle,five feet long,and scaling several pounds.Some of the larger candles are beautiful ornamented with transfer or hand painted designs. These are very popular for decorative purposes and are always in demand for parties.

Then we have the spiral fluted candle and by no means last, the night light . In many of the latter ,however ,the wick is inserted separately by hand.The most commonly used candles run four,six,eight,or twelve to the pound.
